Destination Iguassu Boosts International Visibility with Strategies in the North American Market With GVA USA

A joint effort by the entities involved in the Integrated Tourism Management of Iguassu Falls —including the Municipal Tourism Council, the Municipal Tourism Department of Iguassu Falls, Itaipu Binacional, Itaipu Parquetec, Visit Iguassu, and Fundo Iguaçu—along with Global Vision Access, focuses on positioning Destination Iguassu as a renowned international choice for travelers from the United States. With a multifaceted approach, GVA USA is developing and implementing various strategies to enhance the destination’s presence and reputation in the global market.

Database and Efficient Communication

One of GVA USA’s key efforts is the creation and maintenance of a robust database of travel agencies and operators, managed through the CRM platform HubSpot. Currently, the database includes 505 active contacts, acquired through networking and partnerships with associations such as ATTA (Adventure Travel Trade Association) and USTOA (United States Tour Operators Association).

Additionally, the contact database is continually updated with weekly newsletters and training offers about the destination. In collaboration with TaConnect, GVA USA also sends out a monthly newsletter covering topics such as an overview of Iguassu, its lush nature, impressive engineering, diverse cuisine, and opportunities for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions).

Public Relations Strategies and Media Coverage

Using the international platform Travmedia, GVA USA is promoting the Iguassu Destination through a series of updates and releases. So far, more than 23 posts and 6 releases have been published, reaching American and Canadian media professionals with relevant content. The platform also facilitates the organization of press trips for journalists and influencers, with a press trip scheduled for November 2024.

Campaign with TourRadar

In partnership with TourRadar, GVA USA has launched the “See You at Iguassu” campaign, designed to promote the Iguassu Destination as an ideal nature and adventure destination for families and groups of friends. The campaign includes ads in the “Deals of the Week” section of TourRadar, highlighting special offers and itineraries that feature Iguassu. This initiative aims to increase the destination’s visibility and attract new international tourists.

Partnership with Meaningful Map and Tourism Cares

GVA USA is negotiating a partnership with Meaningful Map and Tourism Cares, aiming to highlight DMCs (Destination Management Companies) and local suppliers with a focus on responsible and sustainable tourism. This international map is part of the strategy to position the destination as a nature-focused location, promoting authentic and sustainable ventures and services. The collaboration reinforces Visit Iguassu’s commitment to responsible and conscious tourism practices.

TV Appearance

Another ongoing project is the partnership with the TV program Good Morning Washington. The series of episodes focused on destinations worldwide aims to highlight the Iguassu Destination and spark public interest, encouraging viewers to consider the destination for their future travels.
